Tao Porchon-Lynch: Poppy of Yoga and Positive Attitude

At almost one hundred years old, the dean of yoga teachers is a true model of life and spirituality. Portrait of an eternal soul who drinks life as a source of joy.
Her name is Tao. She is the oldest yoga teacher in the world. At the height of her 98 years, this woman with incredible destiny continues to inspire more than one. Its motto ? "Everything is possible, nothing is impossible". And when we see his energy and his thirst for life, we say we should perhaps apply the same

modus vivendi. Equilibrium model

Inhale, exhale ... without trust in appearances! Under her air of a puny grandmother, Tao Porchon-Lynch is a true peaceful warrior. When she is not in New York where she gives her yoga classes (six to eight times a week), she goes out to the four corners of the globe to participate in yogis retreats. High in color and always coquettish, she combines her teaching with her spirituality. His path, crossed by Gandhi and Marlene Dietrich, reveals an atypical destiny punctuated by rich encounters and success. Because if Tao is so full of life, it's mostly thanks to his faith. An attentive listening that she gives to the "life force that is in us". A great admirer of nature, it is at the foot of trees that she finds refuge and privileges her moments of prayer. "I have always believed in nature, in breathing. I did not want to pray something or someone out of space, I wanted to pray something that was in me, "she explains.
A destiny

Born in India on August 13, 1918 on a boat at the end of the First World War, this orphan mother is raised by her uncle in Pondicherry, the former French colonial counter. Very early, she learned French and Hindu and went to discover the world. At 12, she meets Gandhi with her uncle, whom she describes in her memories as "a funny little man in glasses sitting on the floor, in front of which everyone lowered their heads". Later, she will follow the steps of the guru in what will become his "Salt March", a prelude to the independence of India. From her travels she says she has learned "the sense of world unity" and "never despise anyone".
